Pre-cleaning

The dirty utensils are pre-cleaned with a strong jet of water from the stainless steel planetary spray and from stainless steel ceiling nozzles prior to the actual disinfection process. Pre-cleaning is initially with cold water to prevent baking-on of protein materials. Rinsing is performed with lukewarm and then warm water.

All the solid and liquid substances are removed from the utensils after this cleaning and the disinfection process is started.

Types of disinfection

Decentralised thermal disinfection

Hot steam is generated by the efficient steam generator of 3kW or 4.5 kW and this is fed into the cleaning chamber until the disinfection temperature required is achieved. A temperature sensor is installed at a meaningful point in the cleaning chamber; this sensor constantly monitors the disinfection temperature which is shown on the digital temperature display.

The steam generator itself is made of stainless steel; the components can be replaced individually in the event of a malfunction. A lime binder with rinse aid is added to the water at each disinfection to protect the steam generator.

Decentralised chemical disinfection

Disinfectant is pumped into the water supply tank by a pump thus generating a disinfectant solution of 0.5%.

The disinfectant solution is transferred into the cleaning chamber from the water supply tank and finely distributed over the utensils inside and outside.

central thermal and central chemical disinfection

Connection to existing centralised steam of disinfectant systems in hospitals is possible. In this case the steam generator or disinfectant pump can be dispensed with.

Safety standard

DISCHER cleaning machines can only be operated with the cleaning chamber door closed. Once the programme has started the machine locks the cleaning chamber door until the end of the programme.

If a malfunction occurs during the cleaning process e.g. shutoff of the cold or hot water lines, then the machine registers malfunction and remains locked. This is also ensured even if the disinfection process has not been completed.

The machine also blocks if the supply containers for lime binder or disinfectant are empty to ensure hygienic disinfection.

Cleaned and disinfected utensils are cooled so that they can be removed and used again immediately. The recooling water used for this comes from the disinfected water supply tank.
